Fire Protection
There are fire protected areas throughout the Regional District with fire protection provided by:
- Contracted Services with the District of New Hazelton and the Village of Hazelton for the Rural Hazelton Area, including South Hazelton and Two Mile,
- Dease Lake Fire Department;
- Thornhill Fire Department:
- Station 1 - Thornhill,
- Station 2 - Lakelse Lake, and
- Station 3 - Gitaus.
Thornhill Volunteer Fire Department also has Mutual Aid Agreements with neighboring municipal Fire Departments including the City of Terrace and the District of Kitimat.
