The Regional District of Kootenay South (RDKS) offers comprehensive Dog Control services to help maintain a safe and responsible community for our furry friends and their owners. Our services include:

• Dog Licensing: Mandatory for dogs aged four months and older for identification and safety.

Important Details About Dog Licenses

Age Requirement: All dogs four months and older must be licensed.

Penalties: Unlicensed dogs may attract a fine of $125.

Annual Licensing Fees

• Standard Fee: $30 per spayed or neutered dog.
• Non-Altered Dogs: $60 per dog per year.
• Service Dogs: Licensed at no charge.
• Early Bird Discount: Save by renewing or purchasing your license before January 2, 2024. Enjoy a reduced rate of $20 per license.

License Validity: Each license is valid until January 2 of the following year.
