Exploring Zymontez Mine: An Off-Road Adventure Guide

Natural Splendor

Venture into a realm of lush green forests, sparkling creeks, and expansive views of rivers and mountains. This picturesque area also leads adventurers to the historical Zymontez mine, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and rustic remnants of mining history.

Accessing Zymontez Mine

To reach the Zymontez mine, embark on a journey along the North Copper Logging Road, which starts at the terminus of Copper Estates Road. Drive to the 11.25km mark, then take a right turn following the route under the power lines. When you encounter splits in the road, continue left at both junctions—veering right will lead you toward the Copper River instead.

Vehicle Recommendations

Navigating to the mine is best suited for quads (ATVs) or Side-by-Sides (SxS). The terrain en route features steep inclines peppered with large boulders and loose rocks, making it a challenging but thrilling ride for off-road enthusiasts.

Road Conditions Alert (Update as of July 20, 2019)

Travelers should be aware of significant road washouts near the mine, especially the deteriorated bridge approximately a kilometer from the mine entrance. This section has undergone severe damage and is only safely passable using ATVs or SxS vehicles. Standard vehicles may find this part of the journey extremely difficult and unsafe without expert off-road driving skills.

This adventure is recommended for those equipped with the right vehicle and a spirit for exploration. Prepare to immerse yourself in the wild terrain and discover the historical intrigue that Zymontez mine has to offer!
